Where to Install Direct Colour Management or other Extensions

I had the Direct Colour Management extension installed, and it quit working with this error message:

C:\users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages\lu14428vxi0e.tmp_\DirectColourManager-L 1.2.7 does not exist.

I believe this is likely a Widows10 problem as I’ve had a plethora of problems with it. When I had a problem installing fonts, issue linked below, I was shown where to install fonts directly. Is there a similar file location for installing extensions?

I would guess that the folder below would be correct, but I’d prefer a confirmation before I do something that might screw up the program.

Font Installation Workaround for LibreOffice?

Is there a way to install a font just for LibreOffice? I had my machine set up as a dual-boot with Linux, but the BIOS did not support Linux and turned the machine into a brick. I loved Linux, but do not dare to try to reinstall it on this machine. During that time, I lost the paper where I had written down my Widows product key, so I’m running an un-registered version. Win10 has a taken fonts over as a system feature and disables it without a valid product key. So, I either pay money to MS…

This are completely different things. Fonts are managed by the operating system, while a LibreOffice extension is only related to LibreOffice and hence managed by LibreOffice.

In your case: Delete C:\users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\* (all files and directories below) and reinstall all extensions you once had installed (May be it’s a good idea to take a backup copy in advance)

Yes, fonts should be managed by the OS, but this is one of the many bugs I have had with Widows 10. In the other post, I was shown a workaround to install fonts directly to LibreOffice.

Your solution worked. I deleted those files and reinstalled the extensions. Now they all work.

Any idea what caused the problem? For a couple months I was able to install some extensions but not others. Then I could not install any and they all quit working. Now they all install and work fine.

The DCM extension was written in StarBasic. I just installed it on my LO 6.1.6 version. The extension is located in MyMacros: you can modify the code in the StarBasic IDE:

The location of the MyMacros is in the User Profile of the LO. If you use a portable version of the LO, then the UserProfile is located in the program directory. Otherwise the location is in the standard places, depended on the type of the operating system.

I ended up deleting the old file and reinstalling because I do not know that much about programming. This will probably help someone else though.
