How to change date format [closed]

How do I change my date fromat to this: yyyy/mm/dd instead of mm/dd/yy

I'm using LibreOffice

I'm on, but it should be the same (?) - highlight range, then use Format Cells... > Numbers [tab], then choose "Date" under the "Category" list. In the "Format code" box, put in "YYYY/MM/DD" - save ("OK"). That should do it.

If it doesn't, you should think about upgrading -- in fact, you should upgrade anyway! (What is your operating system?)

I'm using Ubuntu but I rarely use spreadsheets. I use R to data analysis and I'm more of a programmer but I just happened to have gotten an xls file to analyse. But thanks a lot though. That was the first spredsheet I've opened in like a year.
