I tried the ff equations:

But its displaying rectangles instead of vertical line "|". Im using LibreOffie 4.4.4.3

This sounds as if you haven't installed the OpenSymbol font.

I guess that some stuff gets asked again & again:

- math-symbols-such-as-angles-shown-as-boxes
- equation-formula-editor-in-lo-44-do-not-shows-math-symbols-properly
- math-formulas-broken-after-upgrade

The answer in all cases (install OpenSymbol font):

- Click on http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/plain/extras/source/truetype/symbol/opens___.ttf to download a file.
- In Windows Explorer double click on downloaded font file and click Install button at the top of window.
- Open LibreOffice Math and type in formula. Problem solved.
