I imported OpenOffice spreadsheets from a Win10 HDD to a Ubuntu 14.04 HDD. When I open my main SS with Libre Calc Version: there are several cells where I import data from other SS's. Everything looks OK, but there were several error messages about those links to other pages. Expected that and no problem, I thought. Go to the cells that contain the links, try to change them to the new paths. Close and reopen, and find that the paths have been reset! Not what I entered, but Calc has added some directories for some reason.

Here's what one link looks like: ='file:///home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/Propane 16.xls'#$'2016'.G17

Note it starts with Home/Jim/... but then inserts it again later in the path, after I save, close, and reopen the SS.

Here's what it SHOULD look like: ='file:///home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/Propane 16.xls'#$'2016'.G17

Even though I've erased that extra path numerous times, each time I close and return, the extra, incorrect, path pointers are back. I have the same extra path pointers replaced in all the other cells I use for this same data gathering from different SS's too.

How do I stop Calc from adding those extra path pointers?

On Edit: It adds "/home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16" to the path every time I close and then reopen the SS. I've been testing and it's added it 9 times so far.

Can you please submit a bug at and attach a small as possible document to reproduce? Thanks.

There is an option
Menu/Tools/Options/Load-Save/General - Save URLs relative to file system,
Even you see the complete path, if you have enable it, it must work as such.

Thanks for the answer, but that change in Options didn't change the problem. It still repeatedly adds "/home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/" to the path.
