I imported OpenOffice spreadsheets from a Win10 HDD to a Ubuntu 14.04 HDD. When I open my main SS with Libre Calc Version: 4.2.8.2 there are several cells where I import data from other SS’s. Everything looks OK, but there were several error messages about those links to other pages. Expected that and no problem, I thought. Go to the cells that contain the links, try to change them to the new paths. Close and reopen, and find that the paths have been reset! Not what I entered, but Calc has added some directories for some reason.
Here’s what one link looks like: =‘file:///home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/Propane 16.xls’#$‘2016’.G17
Note it starts with Home/Jim/… but then inserts it again later in the path, after I save, close, and reopen the SS.
Here’s what it SHOULD look like: =‘file:///home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16/Propane 16.xls’#$‘2016’.G17
Even though I’ve erased that extra path numerous times, each time I close and return, the extra, incorrect, path pointers are back. I have the same extra path pointers replaced in all the other cells I use for this same data gathering from different SS’s too.
How do I stop Calc from adding those extra path pointers?
Thanks!
On Edit: It adds “/home/jim/Documents/My Spreadsheets/Spreadsheets 16” to the path every time I close and then reopen the SS. I’ve been testing and it’s added it 9 times so far.
