Always continue previous numbering

Hi,

Is there any way I can make the numbering (by F12) always be in continuation of the previous one ?

Here’s an example of what I do and make me crazy about

QSDFQSDF

  • 1 List item
  • 2 List item

QSDFQSDF

  • 3 List item
  • 4 List item

QSDFQSDF

  • → and here, if I do press F12 it will numbered at 1 instead of 5.

I know that I can right click and select “continue the previous numbering” but it’s annoying to do so every time.

Thanx.

I’d recommend to style your list paragraph as Numbering x (x = 1 to 9) to clearly separate them from Default or Text Body. However, I did find in the styles properties (paragraph and list styles) any option to do that. An LO limitation?

Current libre writer 6.4 has no such option called ‘styles and formatting.’ So this is Not aswered for current Libre Writer?

@stevedonato: and there is none either in 7.x releases. What you call an “option” is in fact one of the views in the side style pane. If this pane is not already visible in your LO, press F11. This will pop up a floating window you can dock on a side. This pane may be labelled Styles and Formatting as in the screenshot below and simply Styles.

Note that 6.4 is now rather old, so it no longer qualify as “current”. “Current” release version is 7.1.4.2 on my machine. Subversion numbers may slightly differ depending on OS and distribution.

Hi

Do not use the Numbering On/Off of formatting toolbar. The solution is to apply a List Style (not a Paragraph Style) as in the Continue.odt attached example.

Regards

Perfect, thanx.
