Is there a way to have preset fixed width when importing .txt files in Calc?

Hello,

LibreOffice 5.1.5.2

I receive several reports in .txt format. I use fixed width to import the reports into Calc. Different reports have different widths. Is there a way to save the width settings as a template so that I can import a report without having to go through and reset the column breaks each time? I know that Calc must 'remember' the width settings between each time it is run because it defaults to the last width I used. Maybe there's a way for me to save a configuration file for each report type?

Thanks in advance for your time,

I don't think there is a built in method, but I thought it would be interesting to try and create a macro for this. It was a bit more effort than I originally expected but has been a good learning exercise. Attached document includes a copy of macros and the dialog required and some basic setup and usage instruction if you'd like to give it a try.

Let me know if you have any problems getting this running.

I'd be interested to try and develop this further if you have any suggestions that would make it more usefull.
