Getting the XML

Hi Everyone,

I have experimented with the file structures of ODT documents and am very impressed that, by extracting the zipped information, I can get at the XML code behind the document.

As it is I would like to use the XML source and can certainly extract this programmatically (by unzipping) but I am wondering whether there is an easier way to do this?

Maybe by working with OO-Basic I could directly export the file in its raw XML form?

I hope that someone can point me in the right direction here.

Many thanks,
Alan Searle

Does your version of LibreOffice support saving as the OpenDocument Text (Flat XML) format (.fods) (.fodt)? I think that’s what you want.

.odt → .fodt
