When changing fonts on an .xls doc, does your program freeze too?

I’m using a fresh install of Fedora 24, and a fresh install of LibreOffice 5. Here’s the stuff from the ‘about’ section:

Version: 5.1.5.2
Build ID: 5.1.5.2-8.fc24
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.7; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Whenever I’m using a doc that was saved as .xls and I try to change the font, Calc freezes up. Specifically the soffice.bin process ramps up to 100% on the CPU and never drops. Fortunately having multiple cores keeps the rest of my machine running and I can kill that process. Does anyone else notice that? I think it’s a bug, but figured I’d ask if anyone else sees the problem to make sure it’s reproducible first.

I have the same problem on the Mint Linux.
LibreOffice 5.1.4.2 10m0(Build:2)
Version: 5.1.4.2 Build ID: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default;
Locale: bs-BA (en_US.UTF-8)

Same problem here on linux mint 18 cinnamon 64-bit and libreoffice 5.1.6.2.
I found a solution working for me : change the font by typing the font name manually and then press enter ( not by using the scrolling menu).
Hope it helps.
