write - how to create a template

I cannot get this to work (kind of give up). I am trying to create a "template" in write that has the following layout.

Paper size is letter, borderline (box) is 4.00"x6.00" (so I have two boxes on a page). The paper will be trimmed at the lines for gluing in a spiral notebook for reference. I tried using a "text box", but I cannot get it to repeat page after page.

Does anyone have any suggestions on doing this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Use columns, like here: notebook.ott

However, a better approach would be to use half-size pages with page border, and simply print two pages on one.

I tried this, but it does not allow me to start a new subject on the same page. For example I create a note 1 on the left side, I would not be able to create a note 2 on the right side of the page. I will look into the half-size pages.

Why? The same as with pages: you need to go to the new place (either by inserting column break, or e.g. with Tools->Options->LibreOffice Writer->Formatting Aids->Direct Cursor).

Again, thanks again. The "Direct Cursor" was all I needed. And it is now doing what I need.
