I am not sure if I selected the correct category, but I downloaded this suite over windows because of all the positive review, what a MISTAKE, I spend two days and 20 spreadsheets, one day later everything is gone it’s all wiped clean??? , I have no way to go back and redo all that work. I am extremely disappointed with this site adn the only question to asked, is what options do I have?, I did not have a usb to do a seperate back up, but let’s be real 3 days and all the work is gone???
But let’s be honest:
LibreOffice does not delete files; only the user can do that!
What operating system are you using and which version of LibreOffice?
What file format do you save in?
Where did you save your files?
Why don’t you make backups?
Preventing data disaster
I am using version 25.8.42
saved 2007-365 xls
on my ssd ((c) drive
I finished my work at 10pm , sorry, all the stores are closed. at that time
windows 11 and to be honest, your not the first app I’ve used with windows 11 to have all my data just disappear the next day.
I think your files are still there.
You should repair the file association.
Open File Explorer (Windows-Explorer) and search in the directory where you saved your files.
Right-click on a file ???.xls and select “Open with” from the context menu.
Select Choose another app, select LibreOffice, and select Always open with this app.

In which folder did you save your files? The default would be Documents.
If you save to One Drive, or One Drive synched with Documents folder, then it might be set to online only, in which case you would need to use One Drive tools to find the files and return them back to your computer.
Have you checked the health of your ssd drive recently?
