About finding a line of thought on the keyboard

How can I find a dash mark on the querty keyboard, at Windows and finnish language. Ctrl+ minus is not working? Line mark must be a little bit longer, than normal hyphen.

Edit your question (don’t use a comment) to better explain it. What is a “thought line”? You’re talking about a keyboard; what is your locale setting (OS name and OS language configuration)?

What do you want to do with this “thought line”? There may be another solution depending on your purpose.

What do you expect from Ctrl++ or -? In other apps, it is usually associated with zoom?

As a bonus, mention LO version.

You mean what’s called an en dash or em dash? (In Dutch, it’s called “gedachtestreepje”, which translates as thought line). The en dash (somewhat wider than the normal dash) has code hex 2013 in Unicode. Enter that, select it, open Tools - AutoCorrect - AutoCorrect Options. On the Replace tab, enter – in the Replace box and paste the en dash in the With box. Click New to add it to AutoCorrect.

As an example, under Linux in my locale, en-dash and em-dash can be accessed as Alt Gr+Shift+4 and +5. Many keyboard configurations have them through modifiers on the dash or underscore keys.

Open a text editor and try all key+modifiers combinations. You may find what you’re looking for.

By the way, Ctrl+- inserts a soft hyphen, a way to tell LibreOffice where to hyphenate a word. When not at the end of a line, the soft hyphen will not show.
