6.3.4.2 version of office writer
I just added a title page to the front of my 100 plus page manuscript and it has screwed up every page of it by duplicating the title and author on every single page of the entire document
Can someone guess which Libre Office Writer setting may have changed to be causing this?
We can’t see what happened with your file and where the replicated data appears. I can conjecture that the title and author name suddenly pop up in the header at the top of each page. That might happen if you used an existing template with enabled headers and fields showing those data in the header. As long as you don’t format any text with paragraph style Author or Title, nothing will show in the header. But as soon as you format the title as Title and the author name as Author, those fields will become alive.
If that is not what is going on, please edit your question and upload a small file with the first pages so that we can see what is the problem.

The original manuscript was 135 pages and the problem has turned it into a 770 page manuscript with the title appearing near the center of each of the 6x9 pages with six or seven lines of parts of the ten chapters of the book appearing below the title. see linked image below

A screenshot isn’t helpful here, though it suggests that you entered the title in the header of the title page. Don’t. A header is a container for repetitive text like page number and chapter title in normal font size. Remove the book title from the header and place it in the main text area.
Please post a document with a few pages, not screen shots, if the above suggestion doesn’t help.
