This has been reported previously with solution: view, toggle boundaries. All (Text, Table, Section) are checked (in v24.8.2.1) and I’ve tried unchecking and rechecking but this hasn’t fixed it.
Some questions
- Do you have Light theme or Dark theme?
- In Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colours
- Is Automatic set to the same theme as the operating system?
- Are Object boundaries, Table boundaries, Section boundaries all set to Automatic?
Thanks for the suggestion EarnestAI. I believe the theme settings are correct:
Q1. Scheme: Automatic; Automatic: Light
Q2.1 Toggled Automatic to ‘System Theme’ but still no label gridlines
Q2.2 Yes, all set to automatic
The issue persists
Maybe the monitor brightness is set too high to see the grey lines, see Change screen brightness in Windows - Microsoft Support assuming you are still on Windows.
Can you see the gridlines in this label? There is no external data but click either yes or no to see the page.

In the View menu, Text Boundaries and Section Boundaries both need to be highlighted (on) to see the lines. Make sure that View Formatting Marks is also highlighted (on).
Thanks EarnetAI, ‘View Formatting Marks’ fixed it.
I have formatting marks on all the time. Occasionally, I will turn them off to check what it would look like when printed but they go back on immediately afterwards.
