I have Adobe Acrobat Reader set as the default PDF application in windows 10. When I try to open a PDF file, LibreOffice 24.2.1.2 intercepts the command and opens the file in Draw. This makes it hard to scroll through the document and is quite frustrating. Why is this happening?
The simplest way is to:
- Open Explorer, find a pdf, right click it and select Open with > Choose another app
- In the new dialogue, select Adobe Reader and then click the button Always
The pdf will open in Adobe Reader, close it and then double-click the pdf again and it will still open in Adobe Reader.
I find that after Windows updates, Windows removes your defaults or at least asks you to select a default program for files types for which you have already set defaults. Why? You must ask Microsoft.
