All videos play as black

I’ve just installed LibreOffice in order to make a presentation that has several videos. I have converted them all to .avi. They load and display stills in the slide editor, and if I click on the video and use the media playback, they play fine. As soon as I run the slideshow for real, however (with F5) the videos all present a black rectangle. The sound is intact.

I can’t find any setting that lets me change the video player used, but it seems suspicious that Impress can play the videos properly in one context but not the other.

If I use open office impress the create a presentation, the videos play fine.

OS is Windows 10

Version of LOI is latest: 6.2.4.2 (x64)

I have exactly the same problem, also on Windows 10, using version 6.3.4.2.

Does nobody have a solution or know what the problem is?

I have tried avi and wmv - both with the same result. I also tried the original mp4, but it said it wasn’t supported.

Just to clarify: if I click shift+F5 on the slide with the video, it plays fine. If I start on an earlier slide with shift+F5 I get the black screen when it gets to the slide with the video. I guess that is what the OP means, as F5 would play from the start which is equivalent to my second case.
