I seek to add ALT Text on a selection of text within an HTML document, that, as with ALT Text on Images, would present text on mouse-over. Inserting/Applying Hyperlink to selected text does NOT provide “Alternative Text” field for said selected text, yet I have seen screenshots that “Alternative Text” field is available for Images. Is there a version difference I need to address where this field is present for Text as well? currently using LibreOffice 4.2.3.3
I am not sure if I correctly or fully understand your question but…
The HTML alt attribute is only applicable to images.
If you are talking about the explanatory text that appears when you hover over a passage of text then you need to use the HTML title attribute.
A hyperlink (HTML <a> tag) does not apply in either of the above cases.
As an aside, LO 4.2.3.3 is very old. The latest stable version is 6.3.6 available here.
