Alternate left pages formatted differently

My header is correct on every other left page. I want page # on left, book title on right.

What I get is page # on left, then book title, indented about an inch from right (page 2) then full right (page 4).

If I tab in the header, page 2, so it is full right, the header, page 4, becomes too wide so book title wraps to second header line.

Right pages are just fine. Any ideas?
