Always paste unformatted text

By default, Paste (command-V) pastes formatted text. Is there some way to change that, so that by default it pastes unformatted text instead?

I’d like to change this default behavior for Calc only, i.e. continue to paste formatted text by default in the word processor, etc.

LO 2025.2, MacOS Sequoia.

In the drop-down arrow to the right of the paste icon, you can select unformatted text.

You could add the icon for Unformatted text to the Standard toolbar
AddUnformattedTextIcon

Or you can do as you want:

  1. Click Tools > Customise > Keyboard
  2. Click Calc radio button
  3. Select Ctrl+V in the Shortcut keys pane
  4. In the Search field under Functions, type paste
  5. In the Function pane, select Paste unformatted text
  6. Click the Assign button. OK

To remove the shortcut, select Ctrl+V in the Shortcut Keys pane and click the Delete button

Install an extension so that you can use Ctrl + Shift + V to paste unformatted text. https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/42031

Or just use Ctrl+Shift+V then Enter, since unformatted pasting is the Paste Special default.

This is half of the solution. It works well as far as it goes, but it also affects Paste in Writer (even though I did choose the Calc radio button!)
So it is also necessary to customize Command-V for Writer, specifying the normal Paste. That done, I get Paste With Formatting in Writer and Paste Without Formatting in Calc.
