Annoying glitches over cursor while editing formulas

I’m not sure if this is a problem with LibreOffice itself or with my UI setup, but while editing formulas on Calc this “other cursors” are statically printed on the screen, and then everything is harder to identify.

Why does that occur?

Just in case, my video driver configuration:

there have been some rendering difficulties in development versions associated with KDE (see recent bug report and internally linked reports). Unaware if they go back into 4.4.3. Are you using KDE?
