Can’t open .docx file and not sure how to change personal settings - where do I look?4676
How do I resolve this? I am a non-techie senior so any assistance would be appreciated ;o)

I’m having the same problem on Windows 8.1. I hope someone answers. Following.
Here’s the full message I get when trying to open a file:
Either another instance of LibreOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked.
Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user ‘KRAKER/Jeff & Gail’ closes LibreOffice on host ‘KRAKER’.

I was having the same problem. This is what worked for me.
Press control alt delete all at the same time.
It can take a few moments, but a list of selections will appear. Click on task manager. When the popup box opens see if libre office is listed. If it is, highlight it or click on it (I’m not sure which) then click end task. That should clear up the problem.
