Any Templates to use Calc like a word processor?

Any tips, tutorials or templates on how to use Calc like a word processor?

fwiw, I am looking for articles or LO spreadsheet templates similar to something like the following.

Since I do not use MS Office, I’m hoping there might be something more compatible with or relevant to LO spreadsheet.

I’ll take that as a no.

The questions still holds, if that is okay with the mods.

What springs to mind are a few options.

  • Merge cells horizontally in the spreadsheet.
  • Insert a Writer object in the spreadsheet.
  • Insert the spreadsheet as an object in a Writer document
  • Use data merge (mailmerge)

Which one is feasible, if any, depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you explain that in more detail, someone may have a suggestion, and also other possibilities may dawn upon us.

Just giving an Excel procedure which doesn’t help you, and not even explaining why it doesn’t, is a somewhat backwards way of asking for help.

I apologise for my earlier comment, it was a reaction to the title. I normally try to read between the lines to see what someone is really asking; I didn’t, so sorry.

@keme is absolutely right. Probably what you want is Insert > Object > OLE object and select Create New and LibreOffice x.x Text to create an embedded document. Use Writer to format your introductory text.

A spreadsheet application is not a word processor. It has not been designed for that.

When you read carefully the link you provided, you see that Excel does not provide a text processor functionality, but only a special cell formatting. In the end this is not at all a full word processor facility.

An equivalent formatting exists in Calc. Select the cell or group of cells and Format>Cell, Alignment cell. Tick the Wrap text automatically box in Properties. The other settings in the tab provides various tunings.
