Appimage version of LO can't find JRE

I am using Linux Mint 19.1
I have downloaded LibreOffice-5.2.7.2.standard-x86_64.AppImage and when I try to set up the JRE I browse to /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-amd64/jre and it responds: The folder you selected does not contain a Java runtime environment. Please select a different folder. But this is the exact same location that I have specified in my LibreOfficeDev 7.3 (64bit) version and that works.

I have searched the web and this forum. Most of the solutions have to do with using the wrong version of java (32bit vs 64bit) but that is not the case here.

Any suggestions are most welcomed.
Thanks.

LO 5.2.7.2 is a very old LO-version (LO 5 has been create in middle of 2017). So it could be the Java version you are trying to connect to this LO-Version won’t work with LO 5.2.7.2.

I will get the same behavior with LO 6.3 and JRE 11 here. Wont work in this and older versions, will work since LO 6.4.

@RobertG - thank you so much!! That is exactly what the problem was. I made a newer appimage version and everything is working great.
