I have iMac Yosemite and cannot open an important Data Base in Appleworks 6. Can LibreOffice do this?
I did not find any hint about the support of Appleworks.
Why don’t you make safety copy of you database and simply try to open the Appleworks database with LibO Base?

Thanks for the suggestions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleWorks#End_of_AppleWorks says LibreOffice supports most of AW files.
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/aw/page5.html says LO will open at least some of AW db files, so it’s pretty tough situation. If AW can save the db in another format, you’ll have better luck.
Even if LO can’t open the db when it’s in Access format, there are a ton of programs (at least for Window$, but Wine can run them for sure) to handle the file.
If all else fails, you can save the file as CSV or TSV or something, then you need to do manual work to get the data in usable form, if needed.
EDIT 0: http://neowiki.neooffice.org/index.php/Opening_AppleWorks_documents#Database says how to handle the job using NeoOffice.
Many thanks for the suggestions.
