Are There "Recent Documents" Options / Filtering?

I’m using Ubuntu Studio 20.04 and LO 7.4.5.1.

If I’m using Writer, for instance, when I go to Recent Documents all LO files are shown. Is there a way to show only Writer files? Same holds true for all LO programs.

Yes, [edit] but only in the Start Center, since [/edit] for version 7.5.x.

The Start Center can now filter recent documents by type. tdf#80934 (Heiko Tietze, TDF)

Yes. But that’s a kind of preliminary solution only for the thumbnail presentation in the start center.
The solution I pointed to will offer an “expert option” to filter the RecentDocuments pick list automatically following the currently used module,
I did not yet se how it works.

No.

LO does not use file extension to categorise documents. It is only at open time that it routes the file to the appropriate sub-application after having read data at beginning of file. You can obfuscate your directories by changing the file extensions to nonsensical state.

Given this (voluntary) strategy, it would be too much expensive to read the documents only for the purpose of filtering them.

Note also that the unfiltered list allows you to launch any document from any application and this proves an advantage for many users. For example, you have a spreadsheet somehow related to your current text document. You open it simply by going to the recent documents menu without the need to launch first Calc. It is faster.

See enhancement request tdf#56696.
This “old bug” had a vital phase recently. It will be resolved with V7.6.0 thanks to the work by Andreas Heinisch.

I have a question that is somewhat unrelated. When viewing a file on Sharepoint, you can click on the details pane on the right side of the screen to open it. Scrolling down in the information pane reveals the activity for that file. Is there a method to reduce the duration of the activity display or turn it off completely?

Since this is unrelated, it is much better to ask a separate question. I am not familiar at all with Sharepoint which seems to be a M$ product (I’m under Linux). If your question is a Sharepoint one, this is definitely not the right site to ask. You should go to a dedicated Sharepoint forum.
