Recently, when I use LibreOffice Writer, the first letter of each line keeps getting automatically capitalized, and I don’t want it to. I’ve tried turning off AutoCorrect entirely, I’ve tried resetting to the default user profile, I’ve updated the version, nothing has worked so far. But when I restart LibreOffice in Safe Mode, the auto-capitalization does not occur. I’m not quite sure of the reason for the discrepancy because the settings seem to be the same. Any help/advice would be appreciated!
I’ve tried turning off AutoCorrect entirely
Please be specific how did you do everything. Because it should disable the capitalization when AutoCorrect is turned off. So possibly what you did wasn’t “turning off entirely”. Which buttons/menus/checkboxes/etc were clicked/pressed… in which sequence?
I clicked on Tools → AutoCorrect → AutoCorrect Options. I thought the problem might have something to do with the “Capitalize first letter of every sentence” option, but the little boxes were already unchecked for it. So then I tried to check and uncheck that option to see if it would trigger anything, but the problem was still there. Then I went and unchecked every single option at that point just to see - didn’t affect the auto-capitalization. Finally, I clicked on Tools → AutoCorrect and unchecked the While Typing option. Still didn’t work.
I also looked through Preferences to see if there was anything relevant, and in Language Settings → English sentence checking, I saw the Capitalization option for Grammar checking, but it wasn’t enabled either. I’m not sure if there were other things I should have done?
