I am having trouble understanding why documents aren’t automatically saving every 5 minutes or so. I used a version of Libre Office on my old laptop and it DID autosave! I never had to hit the save button after every paragraph! But now on my new laptop, the Libre Office does not have an autosave function?
Why would such a helpful tool no longer be available?
PS, I have no idea what versions I have been using either in the past or now.
LO version is reported through Tools>About LO. At least, you which OS you have (Windows, MacOS, Linux, …), don’t you?
Auto save parameters are set in Tools>Options (or perhaps Preferences under MacOS), Load/Save>General
LibreOffice never auto-saved your document. It only saved recovery information to restore your document in case of a crash. An auto-save feature would be desastrous because it would take away the workflow from you.
