Autocorrect not working next to punctuation

I am working on a Greek document in Writer and because I am lazy I am letting the autocorrect system put accents when possible. Unfortunately the Autocorrect system fails to do its job when the work is next to punctuation or when it is in the beginning of a sentence. Is this a bug, or a feature that I can tweak?
