LO Writer (LOW) Autocorrect Word Completion is not allowing copying of collected words (MacOS). In the Collected Words Window (CWW) at: Tools | Autocorrect | Autocorrect Options | Collected Words – words cannot be edited or copied.
In earlier versions of LOW (e.g., 5.2.4.1) it was possible to update a separate .odt file with collections of words using copy/paste from the CWW into that separate .odt file. This offered high utility for frequently edited, highly dynamic .odt files of word collections. It was simple, fast, and a dependable procedure; just open the .odt with the collected words to populate the CWW, and then start or edit a different working file. It was a brilliant solution to a real problem for writers and researchers.
Now, neither keystroke combinations (e.g., Command+C to copy, Command+V to paste) nor using the right mouse button will highlight or copy or paste words from the CWW to be copied/pasted to another location, to a file, etc. Mouse right-clicking is also inoperative in this window (using various Logitech mice). The left (primary) mouse button highlights only one word at a time in the CWW list. This makes editing or copying the collected word list impossible.
This problem applies to LO versions (build numbers in parentheses) tested as:
• version: 6.3.0.4 (057fc023c990d676a43019934386b85b21a9ee99) on High Sierra 10.13.6 on a MacBook Pro mid-2010,
• version: 6.4.4.2 (9a9c6381e3f7a62afc1329bd359cc48accb6435b) on Catalina 10.15.7 on a MacBook Air mid-2012 , and
• version: 6.4.4.2 (3d775be2011f3886db32dfd395a6a6d1ca2630ff) on a Mac Mini late-2012,
• versions (all on Big Sur 11.5.2 on a Mac Mini 2018):
⁃ 6.4.5.2 (a726b36747cf2001e06b58ad5db1aa3a9a1872d6)
⁃ 7.1.0.2 (53d68d29d90fd16448721a60aad68c28ff0809f5),
⁃ 7.1.5.2 (85f04e9f809797b8199d13c421bd8a2b025d52b5),
⁃ 7.2.0.2 (9a9c6381e3f7a62afc1329bd359cc48accb6435b),
• version: 7.2.0.2 (9a9c6381e3f7a62afc1329bd359cc48accb6435b) on a MacBook Air (M1 2020),
• version: 7.1.5.2 on Ubuntu Pkg 20.04.1 (build 1:7.1.5.2_rc2-0ubuntu0.20.04.1˜lo1) on a Lenovo x220. This was a totally clean, fresh OS install – no extensions, no add-ons, no bells, no whistles.
Both “Enable Word Completion” and “Collect Words” boxes are ticked in AutoCorrect Options.
Languages: English (US) and German (Germany) – both have the same problem of failing to respond to mouse or keyboard highlighting or copying functions in the CWW. I’ve tested with User Interface language and Format Locale Setting both the same and mixed English and German with the same result – no copy function.
Language of User Interface: English (USA)
Format Locale Setting: German (Germany).
Neither removing and reinstalling LO apps in their various versions nor removing and replacing the user profile have resolved the problem. Using a known good acor_en-US.dat (this file copies/pastes ok using LOW 5.2.4.1) copied to the correct path does not successfully copy words from the CWW in LOW 7.2.0.4.
Also, the paths (below) cannot be copied. As with the CWW, these path strings are unresponsive to keystroke combinations or to right-click mouse functions for copying: LO | Preferences |Paths |Paths used by LibreOffice | Type-Autocorrect |

/Users//library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user/autocorr
Internal Paths -
/Applications/LO_7.2.0.4.app/Contents/Resources/…
A principal reason to use LOW is avoiding typing out words like Schokoladenpudding or Seelenschwängerung multiple times in a document. Word Completion is exactly the right tool for the job. After extensively searching the Community platform there don’t appear to be questions or answers for this specific problem. Can anyone please suggest a fix?
