how can I have the file path automatically inserted in footers in writer .odt docs
In Writer, click in the footer where you want the filename path inserted. In the menu click Insert > Field > More Fields... (or Ctrl+F2). In the dialog that opens, select the tab Document, under Type select File Name, under Format select Path.
Save the document as a template. If you want it always to be included then mark the template as default in Templates (Ctrl+Shift+N). Cheers, Al
Thanks for your reply. Control/shift/N opens an incognito chrome browser window in my Windows 10 laptop !!!
