In Writer, if you write in Russian, then it is signed at the bottom of the window as a Russian text and its spelling is checked against the required dictionary. There is no language definition in calc. Russian is signed at the bottom of the window as English. This problem exists on my laptop and home PC. There is no automatic language recognition in Calc. The spell-checking language is determined by the character font attribution’s language setting, same as in Writer. The status bar language displays the default text language that is assigned to a cell’s text if not attributed differently.
