Automatic update schedule settings for LibreOffice?

I did not have automatic updates enabled but just enabled the feature by going through the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features > LO > Change > Modify > Optional Components.

There were many settings to select daily or weekly updates and also time of day. I just did a manual update.

Now I want to go back & set up a schedule but cannot find that screen again. How do I access it?

Thanks.

As you can see, this is Optional components of instalation.

  • The updates are controled in LibreOffice under the menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Online Update

All that does is display a box that you check in order to Enable automatic update.

There is nothing shown that lets me choose how often or the time. All those selections were displayed when I first installed the Optional components. How do I access the update choices again?

I update my previous comment with a screenshot.
And there is a help page about it
https://help.libreoffice.org/25.8/en-US/text/shared/optionen/online_update.html?System=WIN&DbPAR=WRITER&HID=cui/ui/optonlineupdatepage/OptOnlineUpdatePage#bm_id877102

Originally I got what you displayed. But now I get this.

The Help page says

Online Update is a module that is installed by default. To exclude, choose “Custom” in the Setup when installing LibreOffice.

Is it possible that when you ‘manually updated’ you did a custom install and missed the update module?

Not sure what is happening.

I had LibreOffice version 24.2.6. I updated components as mentioned which also displayed the options like you show. But there was also a bit more with an option to do a manual update which I clicked on. That took me to the main LO page where I selected version 25.8.1 which got downloaded to my Windows Download folder.

After the update finished, my actual LO program indicates it is vers 25.2.5.2, not 25.8.1.

Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features only shows 24.2.6.2 which is the previous version.

Right clicking on 24.2.6.2 in order to modify it probably does not do anything because I don’t really have that version installed now.

I did not do a custom install & only selected the update module.

Not sure why all my sentences are running together. They were not that way when I entered them.

Just go back into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, select LibreOffice xx.x.x.x, right click, select Change and change the setting back to what it was, that is in a new default install as below

Initially the little icon looked like the first one in the drop down menu. I thought that might have been the issue because it did not look like second icon with the extra 2 tiny squares next to the drive where it says “and all subfeatures”. I thought maybe I was missing the subfeatures.

I went back & forth again, selecting each feature including the Red X between each time I changed things. This made no difference.

Maybe try re-installing LibreOffice with default options.

Note that the Automatic Update does not have a schedule, it updates when a new version is available. I would be inclined to have it turned off because of bug tdf#164070

I generally have my work installation running a year or so behind the current versions. Unless of course, there is an improvement or a bug fix that I must have.

See Bug 164043 - [MAR] After MAR-update, Windows keep old release number in Settings and registry

I didn’t use the automatic updates. That “tab” was handy to check for any updates & install them. Some people said to uninstall the old LO & then install the new version, Some said to just install new over old,

I figured to just let LO do whatever it has to in order to update, after I chose to do so.

But I still do not understand why the update downloaded vers 25.8.1 but installed 25.2.5.2.
