Customers of my application are using the DISPLAYBARCODE field in MS Word (see Field codes: DisplayBarcode - Word and [MS-OI29500]: DISPLAYBARCODE | Microsoft Docs) for document templates.
I know that this field is MS specific.
Thus when the documents (resulting of the templates) are opened (or converted to PDF in background) with writer the barcode is of course not shown.
So to state the requirement I am facing: The generated barcode in the document (DOCX) should be visible in an output PDF of libre writer without any further user interaction.
Is there any work-around to get writer to show the barcode as a result of the field with the (dynamic inserted) data (field argument) as barcode content?
And to be clear: No, it is not a solution to have the user insert a barcode instead.
