Barcode scanner select cell in same row

Hi

I want to scan a barcode and have calc find the barcode but select a cell in the same row but different column from the barcode to import a weight from a scale.

Has anyone done this or have an idea of how I could go about doing it?

Can you give us some details about the data transfer method of your scaner? (Can it emulate precisely the data transfer of a general keyboard?)
