Having installed v7.2.0.4 I find my tables not displaying the text correctly in English. It fills the text boxes in the title column with other characters. Also, the programme is very slow to react and sometimes shuts down.
Any advice will be most welcome.
Tell us about the connection type in Edit>Database>Connection… or the info displayed on the status bar of the database window.
Hi and thanks for the response. However, as I use tables all the time, I couldn’t really wait for a solution. I therefore restored my earlier version of LO and will run that until the new version has settled down.
Thanks again.
The problem won’t go away without your colaboration. It may not even be noticed. I don’t see any such problem in LO 7.2.
I am willing to try again, but will need advice as to how I can revert to a previous version, without loss of table data. I don’t want to have to deploy an image of my C drive again.
First you have to copy the *.odb-file in another folder. All data are saved in this file if you are using internal databases.
Then you should write here which system you are using. Seems you are using Windows, because you are writing about a C drive.
Then: Start LibreOffice in Safe Mode: Help → Restart in Safe mode → Restart
and afterwards also press Continue in Safe mode
(or something like this - appears here in German). Now open the *.odb-file and have a look at the data.
Many problems could be solved better when ignoring the special user folder of LO instead of installing another version of LO.
Taking all things into account and the fact my version works perfectly well, I will defer an upgrade to the latest release, until it becomes the standard version for download.
Thanks again.
