Base query font not right and unknown

This is what I see in the Base Query Design view, but I don’t know what font is in use in order to setup a substitution or locate and install the appropriate font. Please advise.

Figure 1: Symptom

Version is 24.2.2.2 (X86_64).
OS is Fedora Linux 39 (KDE Plasma).

LibreOffice first tries to find the font, which is defined in your system as mono font. It’s “Hack 9pt” here on a Linux system with KDE. It’s the same I will find in Tools → Options → LibreOffice → Fonts → Font settings for HTML, Basic and SQL Sources.

Under KDE, if I go to Settings > Appearance > Fonts, I see a list, one of which is “Fixed width” and “Noto Sans Mono 10pt”:

I can verify under Settings > Appearance > Font Management that such font does indeed exist. So if LibreOffice is trying to use this font, it should have no issue. Is this what you’re talking about or am I misunderstanding?

Actually, never mind. The Font Settings for HTML, Basic and SQL Sources > Fonts selection was Automatic. So I changed that to FreeMono, and now I can see what I’m typing! That’s all that matters to me at this point, so my issue is resolved. Thank you! For some reason I was not putting two-and-two together with that selection. I was making it out to be harder than it was to fix this!

So it seem “Automatic” isn’t working. “Automatic” is never chosen here. LO will start and find the font, which is set as Fixed Font (Noto Sans Mono 10pt for your system). Could test this by starting with new user profile.

But, most important: Now it works for you.
