Creating a table in base, when creating a text field I see the field properties option “format example”. Opening it I have an input field for a format code.
Can anyone point me in the direction of how to use all that and how to create the format code? Using the help button sends me to an empty wiki page.
What I need is a text(?) field for data like “BAR-1”, “PO-2”, “PEX-12”.
With a text field there is really nothing to set. The code for text is @ which is pre-selected. This allows you to enter alpha, numbers, & special characters into the field in any sequence. For some other types here is a link (click here). Where you may want a specific format is in say a date field. Although internally it is stored in only one way, the displayed format can be in a variety of formats.
