Best way to run Macro (push button disappearing)

So I am currently working on transitioning people over from MS to LO I was finally able to get their macros to run (VBA). However, the push button that runs it will not stay in the file; every time it is saved the button disappears. The file is being saved as .xlsm Excel 2007-365 (macro-enabled). If I save it as ODF the button will stay. Is this a compatibility issue? Is there any way to get push buttons to work on the .xlsm? Or is there another way I can easily run the macro?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are doing a migration to LibreOffice, I strongly recommend to do a migration of the format to ODF as well.
