Best way to upgrade to v.5 on Mac?

What’s the preferred way to upgrade to v.5 from v.4 (4.4.4.3) on a Mac?

– i.e., does one need to first ‘uninstall’ v.4, or does the install of v.5 automatically remove v.4 (i.e., the program-related files)?

Thanks.

I would advocate remove of the old installation first. Under MacOS this is as simple as dragging the application icon to the rubbish bin. Then install the newer series. It is probably not essential to perform the uninstall first, however unless you are wanting to keep some data from the user profile (e.g., custom spelling dictionaries) it makes no sense to keep the old installation. The process can always be reversed (uninstall v5 and reinstall v4) if required.
