Keeping a long list which I add to periodically. Every time I open it there are empty lines added in no particular pattern all the way though it. Each time I go through the document and remove them then save but it happens again each time I open it. It makes a 62 page document 80 pages long. I’ve been keeping this document for several years and it worked fine in Word but when I changed to Libre Office it started this adding lines thing.
Sounded good but it didn’t work. I opened the document, removed the spaces, saved as ODF, closed it then opened it and the spaces are back. Any more suggestions? I’m getting really tired of going through all those pages removing blank lines. I must have done it at least 100 times now. Help!

Change the file format to ODF. There are known problems with the DOC format that are related to issues such as adding blank lines, especially in relation to footnotes.
