Borderline extention not working

running on ubuntu saucy 13.10 - Xubuntu 13.10

If I open calc and click a cell and click on border its a thin border and im not able to make the borders bold any suggestions

Please verify, java is enable and a version selected in:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/Advanced
