I’m trying, unsuccessfully, to find a way to format a bulleted list so that it appears exactly as I want it when the file, saved as a docx file, is opened in Word. Since Word doesn’t recognize List Styles, I’ve focussed on Paragraph Styles but nothing I’ve tried retains the indent for the lines of text that follow the first line.
The only thing that works is using the Bullets and Numbering button on the toolbar and then customizing the positioning. However, I can’t find a way to save the customized setting so that I can use it in the future without constantly re-customizing.
Has anyone else come across this issue and, hopefully, found a solution?
I’m using LO v25.2.5.2 on a MacBook Air using Sequoia 15.5.
There is no way to save Format
>Bullets & Numbering
for reuse in future sessions. Those settings are provided for compatibility with the badly designed feature in M$ Word. Only List Styles retain their configuration across sessions but, as you noticed, there are no List Styles in Word and the layout ends up in direct formatting in DOCX (which is what Format
>Bullets & Numbering
is; and you can’t save direct formatting for reuse = this would define a style which does not exist in Word).

I may not have been clear. I’m not concerned about opening docx files in LO. My issue is when I save LO files as docx and then they’re opened in Word.
