Calc 4.0 100% CPU Copy&Paste

Anybody had same problem?

I manage a small ebay store for my uncle and I use calc to keep a record for postage.
PC: Ubuntu AMD64 4G RAM

Step to reproduce

1. In “Awaiting postage”, select a lot of these item
2. Paste using middle-click into a cell

Then, LibreOffice use 100% CPU and stuck, have to be killed

I shall write a script extracting data from webpage to ease my job but still having this problem with calc isn’t nice to some.

Hi @jiero,

I’m not sure what you mean when you say “1. “Awaiting postage” and select a lot of these item.” Is that a menu selection you’re making? Is that a column of data in your spreadsheet?

In any case, it sounds like you should file a bug report and provide clear steps describing how to reproduce your problem.

Hi jiero,
it is no easy to know what is happening.
But I think some attempts can be done to get the data:

• Using Meny/Insert/Link to external data, you can select a table from the webpage to insert, and retain linked with an interval to update.
• I do not know how, but there is a thread in Aoo forum, about ebay data in CSV. Import date with custom format

Hi, Im processing the data on daily basis. Now Im learning xpath and js to make this process automatic. But the bug still exist, a large content copy&paste will cause trouble to libreoffice. A smarter way libreoffice can do, split large chunk into small ones rather than do all at once.
