Calc 7.6 ignores comment size and location

I have a spreadsheet created over a period of years that has a couple thousand comments each of which I sized and located to avoid covering nearby cells. The changes in 7.6 cause the comments to show in a large popup blocking the view of cells I want to see while viewing the comment. Right-clicking and selecting ‘Show Comment’ shows the comment as I originally set it. Is there a way to get Calc to show the comments as originally configured? Without the added date would be nice too.

tdf#156885 is resolved in the future 24.8.

Thank you.

I had noticed that bug report during my searches for a resolution but didn’t notice the mention of size/location. I thought it was just about the meta data. My bad.

It’s been over two years and I’m currently using calc version 26.8.0.2 and the size/location problem of hovering to see a comment was not resolved in is resolved in the future 24.8.

It still exists. When hovering over a cell the comment is displayed in a rather large window covering many cells I want to see instead of respecting the size and location I set. If I select ‘show comment’ or ‘edit comment’ it is shown as I set it. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Arch Linux, Libreoffice 26.8.0-2

Thanks for any help finding a true solution…
