Calc active cell highlight color is not a highlight of my life

I can’t see the active cell on my spreadsheets. Who is the genius who decided that a nice light blue is so easy to see?

Why for the love of all things holy is there no way to change the active cell highlight color?
I’m running Mac OS 14.6.1 and LibreOffice 7.6.7.2

I have tried the old topic on this PROBLEM and none of it works.

It seems like lots of people have this problem and no programmers give a hoot.

It is an operating system setting, see Change Appearance settings on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

Also since LibreOffice 24.2 there is Row/Column Highlighting, see ReleaseNotes/24.2 - The Document Foundation Wiki

And a small change in 24.8, see ReleaseNotes/24.8 - The Document Foundation Wiki

[Edit]
From 25.2 You can change the colour of the highlight border (and also the row and column labels) in Tools > Options > Appearance > Customizations > Calc Cell focus as long as the LibreOffice Theme is not Automatic.

Try this: LibreOffice>Preferences>Advanced, button [Expert Configuration…]
Search for “TransparentSelection” and double-click the boolean value to “False”.

Every selection will be shown in the inverse colors of the selected object (high contrast selection) as it used to be in the good ol’days of user interface design.
