Calc conditional formatting not applied as expected

Hi,

I am having a problem with conditional formatting in my sheet (attached).

I’m trying to get the formatting of the first grid in the second and third grid.

Basically:

  • If a cell has an “r” I want it to apply the “Root Note” style, so white text on dark background.
  • If a cell has an “x” I want dark text on dark backgrond (font and cell background are the same color)
  • If a cell has nothing I want the existing formatting to remain (so Default, basically)

I tried combining everything in a single condition, I tried multiple conditions also, but I can’t figure out how to et it to wor correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

Thnks,

C.f. expressions are formula expressions. Your conditions compare the cell values to ranges named x and r. You have to use double quotes in order to compare cell values to literal “x” and “r”.
