I think I’m doing something wrong, or maybe one of my settings is incorrect. I downloaded the newest LO fresh, version 126.96.36.199 (for Windows) and now I’m trying to attach a document to a (self-created) template. The attaching seems to work fine, because when I take a look at the document’s properties it shows the name of the template. After changing or adding a style in the template and then saving it, when opening the attached document I expected to see a pop-up message asking me if I want to update the document. However this doesn’t happen.
What could be the problem? I am reinstalling my computer and therefore haven’t executed all Windows updates yet. Could that be the problem? I actually don’t think so because I don’t get any error messages whatsoever. So what could I be doing wrong? Is there a special way of attaching the document to the template? I see the name of the template in the document’s properties, so I think I did correctly. Could there be some option/setting that is preventing the document from being updated? I tried creating several new templates and documents, but it just won’t work. Any advice would be very welcome.
