Calc doesn't detect Windows 10 "Mail" software

Hi,
I saw a lot of questions about this issue, many of them closed because “outdated” but I’m not finding a solution.
I saw in the forum that this was a bug in the previous version of LibreOffice and that it was fixes but it is still not working for me.

I’ve Windows10 x64
LibreOffice 5.4.2.2 (x64)
I’m using Calc

I’ve no “email” configuration option under “Settings->Options->Internet”.
I’ve found on ask.libreoffice.org that is just sufficient to set a predefined mail software in the windows control panel.
My predefined mail software is: Mail 17.8241.41125.0 (from microsoft)
I know it is working correctly as predefined because if I click on a link like “mailto:address@domain.com”, it opens up.

By the way, If I try to use the “File->send->attach document to email and send”, LibreOffice gives me the error
“No associated software has been found to execute the requested action”
And again
“Libreoffice can’t find a working configuration for the email”
(I’m translating this message since I’ve the language which is set to Italian, but you understand the mean)

Can you please tell me how to fix this?
If you need even more details, or if you need me to make some more test

For me Version: 5.4.4.1 (x64) works fine with Thunderbird as default email on Win10x64. I think options in Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice Writer/Mail merge e-mail are only for that not for the whole LibreOffice apps.

If this is the error you’re getting:

Translated to Italian with google translate:

Nessun programma di posta elettronica
associato per eseguire l’azione
richiesta. Installa un programma di
posta elettronica o, se è già
installato, crea un’associazione nel
pannello di controllo Programmi
predefiniti.

That is Windows. It’s not something we can change in Libre office settings.
Click on the start button and type “Default apps” and press enter. The default email app option should be right at the top to edit/change/select. Make sure that is set to the email program you’re using.

If it is set to your email app already…blame Windows. Microsoft programs aren’t always the best programs to use. Try another pop3 client or use the website for your email account.

Please consider that not everyone uses a pop3 client for their email on every device they use. If your calc project is being made for other people to use forcing them to use those options isn’t going to work well for everyone. Provide a simple, plain, text email address in the document they can copy and then manually attach the spreadsheet to to send.
