I have no clue as to how or why i have an extra row or column with some kind of notation or graphic characters. Efforts to rid fail and I don’t understand its functionality. See attachment. Thanks.
Those are tiny little buttons… you have activated some grouping feature, but on an empty sheet or without data. To get rid of it go to Data → Group and Outline → Remove Outline.
