Calc - File on network drive, 'Lock file could not be created..." error, only after successful first access

Hi,

New to LibreOffice, have been using Apache OpenOffice for years in this exact setup.

Windows 10 client accessing an Unraid (Slackware) file server (XFS file system). LO version 7.3.2.2.

When I try to open a Calc ODS file in my network directory, I get a message that a lock file cannot be created.

Dialog pops up titled “Document Could Not Be Locked” and then talks about access restrictions.

This only started this morning, there have been no changes since I last edited some of these files last night. I opened a couple other ODS calc files on the drive just now and found they’ll open the first time successfully… but if I close (without saving or anything) and then try and re-open them, I get the error.

Oooooh… it occurs to me I installed the MS VC++ Redist this morning with a piece of software…

Sorry if I am stating the obvious, but it sounds a little like LO is unable to delete its lock files. Have you tried looking for lock files in the affected directories and hand deleting them, to see if at least the next load of their related file works?
